Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope you all got what you wanted and were able to spend some quality time with your families. It’s not about the gifts you get, but about the people you’re around and who you love that make Christmas so special. I’m honestly happy the way this Christmas turned out, and I can’t wait until the next one. Also, my Lakers won and that instantly makes this an awesome day. Good night and enjoy what’s left of this holiday! Much love.
Totally forgot to write about Christmas Eve yesterday. Didn’t do much, really. Stayed at home and hung out with my family. It was pretty cool, though. Shared some laughs and ate delicious food most of the day. Yep, nothing like some good old family time during the holidays.
No idea how it got so close to Christmas. I always feel like it takes forever for Christmas to arrive, but this year it kinda jumped on me. Maybe it’s because I’ve actually been enjoying myself the past couple of months. Aside from the last couple of weeks of the semester, I was never too stressed out about anything, plus I managed to make new friends. That could have something to do with it. I don’t know why, really, but I’ll take it. The holidays are already here and I’m just going to sit back and enjoy the time I have with my family and friends. Cheers.
Quite easily the best game of the NBA season so far. The Lakers managed to climb back from a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter to win 118-115. Some takeaways:
- Steve Nash. I was so excited to see what D’Antoni’s offense would look like with Nash running it, and it was beautiful. The pocket passes off the pick-and-roll, probing the lane looking for shooters, and knocking down shots when needed. He is absolutely fun to watch. He only got credited with nine assists, but he managed to make the right pass almost every time. Could’ve easily had 10+ assists. But I am so glad he’s back playing. The Lakers are scary when they have their starting five out, so Nash’s return is welcomed.
- They hung in there when they needed to the most. Before Nash’s return, the Lakers seemed to fold in games where they felt like they were going to lose. Definitely not the case here, since this victory was a hard fought one. They clawed their way back and forced overtime against a team that has been playing some really good basketball. Then they managed to keep the momentum and win. Really great to see.
- Kobe forcing things when he shouldn’t. I love Kobe, but even I have a hard time defending 41 shot attempts. Granted, he should’ve gotten to the foul line several times, but he has this tendency to try and force the officials’ hand. They didn’t bite, and as a result, Kobe kept chucking. I’m glad they won because I don’t even wanna think of the comments Kobe would’ve gotten had they lost.
- Dwight and Pau actually played well down the stretch. It’s been talked about that Dwight and Pau have actually been worse together on the floor, but tonight they worked well. Pau has a knack for passing, and he often found Dwight sealing his man in the low post, or even finding him for lobs in some high-low sets. Just a guess, but that’s how Pau’s going to keep his spot in D’Antoni’s offense.
Just an amazing win for the Lakers. They get a quality win on the road versus a streaking Warriors team. Steve Nash’s return could not have come any sooner, as he helped lead the team to what seems to be a season turner. I really hope that’s the case because I want to see the team everyone in the offseason deemed as the best in the league. 27 down, 55 more to go.
Hanging out with some bros right now, so consider this a cop out post. I’ll write a little more tomorrow.
Saw some of my bros today. Granted, we just sat around and hung out, but it was still great seeing them. Things have changed, but the people haven’t. I still need to see some more people, so if you’re reading this and I like you hit me up. I probably miss you. Or I hate you. Either or.
I’m sick and I don’t like it. I have a headache, the sniffles, and a bad cough. Hopefully I get better soon because I really hate being under the weather. In other news, Miss Philippines is hot. The end.
